Newly Wed Couple Enjoying Snowfall

Bring comfort, beauty and joy to your winter wedding with these simple tips.

Winter is a romantic season of the year. This is why it is a favorable time for a wedding as cold weather and snow just enhance the charm of the celebration. As an added bonus, the wedding theme is even beautiful with cozy attire, rich-hued floral and festive décor. In simple words, winters give a fairytale backdrop to your wedding event.

However, it can’t be denied that extreme cold weather and snowfall can affect your celebrations. Luckily, you can still enjoy the charm of winter wedding celebration with the following tips:

Planning is Important:

Keep the weather in mind and plan the things accordingly. Given that snowy weather can turn harsh any time, think about an emergency or backup plan. Will your guests go through the snowy path to the venue? Does the reception hall get chilly due to large windows? Should the venue have all arrangements to deal with the weather i.e. sufficient heating and umbrellas?

These are the important things to be planned ahead of time.

Color Palette and Lightings:

Be careful with your color choices. You should avoid the color pairings related to festivals or holidays…unless you just can’t get enough of the holidays and you want to make your wedding feel like an extension of the season. Use shades like elegant white or ivory tones and couple them with chic metallic tones like antique gold, pewter or copper. Besides, candlelight can be used excessively, as it will give warmth to your guests.

Availability of Daylight for Photos:

Winter is shorter and darker, meaning that you end up with little daylight for outdoor photos if you delay. Try to hold the event earlier in the day so you can have enough time after the ceremony for an outdoor photo session. In this scenario, it is best if you talk to your photographer ahead of time.

Choose Right Wedding Dress:

Besides looking gorgeous, make sure your wedding outfits ensure warmth in chilly weather. No one wants to shiver throughout the wedding. Right?

Choose a wedding dress with long sleeves or bridal separates. You can accent your wedding dress with scarves, cardigans, boots and faux fur. You can even add an extra layer of lined tights or leggings under your dress if you wear a long skirt.
